Rolling Stones

Formed in London in 1962, The Rolling Stones began as a group deeply steeped in American rhythm and blues and rock & roll traditions. The single “Honky Tonk Women,” a hard‑rocking smash from 1969, topped charts on both sides of the Atlantic and earned its place in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Exile on Main St., released in May 1972, is widely celebrated for its stylistic breadth and remains one of the band’s most critically revered records. Other essential collections like the compilation Hot Rocks 1964–1971 continue to introduce new generations to their hits. Over the decades, The Rolling Stones have become pillars of rock music’s legacy.
